Green Ash

Green Ashes aren’t known for their fall color, but they can have a good yellow fall color. These trees are threatened by Emerald Ash Borer that is making its way across Iowa.

Monarch Chrysalys

Chinese Sumac

Chinese Sumac has only been marginally hardy in my Iowa location. After the main stem died from a bad winter, there have been a lot of suckers popping up.

Good Wasps

I like all Wasps, except for when they sting me. This Wasp does not sting though, but lays its eggs in the wood, killing woodboring insects.
