Bamboo met its match last winter, what came back was few and far between.
This area was full of bamboo the previous year, but most of the root system had been killed off.

Are you sure the root system is dead and gone?
Besides willow, bamboo is my fav. Tho, did see your poplars, and they too are very lovely.
yeah bamboo bit the dust here, roots and all, only some small fragments left. I guess what species did survive can persist on, but not made for here and I am not willing to move for the sake of bamboo 🙂
