Cattle Pasture has slowly disappeared on this Oasis. The young trees are creating wildlife habitat where there was none before.

Hinge Cutting Trees

Hinge cutting trees can offer more wildlife habitat where there was little before.  I also did this in the woods and opened up the canopy for more young growth in the woods. I cut this Elm tree down, but let it stay attached to the trunk, good example of a hinge cut.

Spruce Grove

Today I planted a lot of Norway Spruce and Colorado Blue Spruce. In the future there should be a nice grove of evergreens for the wildlife.
