Tulip Poplar trees are starting to dot my oasis. These trees are sensitive to drought, so I need to site them strategically.

Iowa Tulip Poplar

Tulip Poplars have had problems getting started on this farm. Cold and droughts have damaged and killed them, though the one above is my biggest tree so far.

Fall Colors 2010

Bitternut Hickory has good yellow fall color. Black Gum has become a frequent tree on my blog in the fall because of its color. Sassafras is known for good fall color. Sun n’ Snow Poplar has attractive fall color during the whole growing season.
