Vernal Pond In July

Vernal Ponds suppose to dry up eventually, but the past couple of years this one hadn’t. Now that this year is drier, this one has completely dried up.  It may be possible to even dig it deeper once the mud dries up.

Vernal Pools Snowmelt

Snow has been melting and filling up my new vernal pools. This stops the water and helps it soak into the ground, rather than having the snowmelt leave the property and be wasted.

Busy Building Vernal Ponds This Month

I have been building a lot of vernal ponds this month with my trusty Wolverine spade and 5 gallon buckets to haul the dirt. I like to play in the dirt.
