Aralia Elata

Aralia Elata flowers later than Aralia Spinosa. So there isn’t much of a chance for fruit to ripen.

Thorniest Plant

The Arala Elata is one of the thorniest plants on my Oasis. These shrubs are thornier than Aralia Spinosa, but have proved less hardy.   I am starting to wonder if my plant is the less-hardy  Aralia Chinensis.

Thorns Everywhere

The Aralia Elata I am growing has spines everywhere on it. It is the most dangerous-looking tree I grow.

Castor Aralia and Aralia Elata

I am trying a couple different thorny trees that are from Asia. Castor Aralia(Kalopanax pictus) and   Japanese Angelica Tree(Aralia elata). Both look very ornamental so far.
