Not So Hardy Rubber Trees

I have been growing Hardy Rubber Trees.  These trees are easy to grow from seed. There has been some dieback though in the harshest winters.

Hardy Rubber Tree

The Hardy Rubber Tree keeps nearly flawless green leaves into the fall. But this species has had some winter dieback in the worst winters.

Hardy Rubber Tree

The Hardy Rubber tree(Eucommia ulmoides)  is the only tree that produces rubber in temperate climates. When tearing the leaves, the rubber is visible in the strands that keep the leaf from falling apart.   This rubber tree is easy to grow from seed.
