Chinese Sumac

Chinese Sumac has only been marginally hardy in my Iowa location. After the main stem died from a bad winter, there have been a lot of suckers popping up.

Seven Son Flower

Seven Son Flower is a beautiful, large bush I can grow in Iowa. This is one of my latest flowering shrubs and attracts a lot of insect pollinators, like butterflies and bees.

Seabuckthorn is a shrubby, thorny tree, that suckers a lot. The ripening berries are orange and have a lot of flavor.

Reblooming Lilac

Old Fashioned Lilacs bloom in the spring. Though sometimes a few blooms will appear later in the year.

Kristy D European Cranberrybush

Kristy D has been an attractive cultivar of the European Cranberrybush. The leaves show good variegation for this Viburnum.
